You completely changed my idea of Budo Taijutsu. I am changing my focus to develop these smaller movements. The stuff you showed me made me see some things in Hatsumi and the shihan's movement/distance that i wasn't able to understand before. I look forward to training with you again in the near future!

How marvellous to have someone actually look intellectualy at the biological components of the art and apply modern science to ancient technique to assist and improve the learning experience! Too often I come accross practitioners who blindly repeat "no think" as though it applies to all aspects of the art, but that only results in cardboard technique and an inability to pass on in more than parroted imitation. A real artist or even competent mechanic understands the properties of their material in depth, and in the case of Budo taijutsu it is the body, mind and energy of the individual we are working with.
Heartily applaud what you are doing, Rob-shihan, and look forwards to getting back to train with you again sometime.
Bufu Ikkan!

Hey great piece!

For a long time I have argued these same points (neural pathways etc) but been shut down by the 'traditionalists' of the art. Fantastic to see that I am not alone on this thought/method!

Thanks and keep up the good stuff!

This is great information and clears up a lot of the misconceptions as to what the foundations of Budo Taijutsu actually are.

Thanks.
